Cubism

See You Space Cowgirl

I have two final iterations of my Cubist piece, titled “See You Space Cowgirl”. The final pieces measure 18×22 inches at 150dpi and were created using Photoshop, Illustrator, and Procreate.

See You Space Cowgirl – Neon Paradise

This iteration of See You Space Cowgirl features pattern overlays, neon effects and text, drop shadows, and a striking neon figure in the left area of the piece. The front figure is cube-ified on its left side to add an interesting effect, and the background is glitched to add visual difference. This piece resonates with the Vaporwave/1980s Miami aesthetic most strongly for me, whereas my other piece is more Cubist inspired.

See You Space Cowgirl – Ultracubist

This iteration of See You Space Cowgirl, like its partner above it, features pattern overlays, neon effects and text, and drop shadows, but the leftmost figure has been reconstructed to look like one of the Three Musicians created by Picasso. The front figure is cube-ified on its left side to add an interesting effect, and the background is glitched to add visual difference. This piece reads as perhaps more directly cubist inspired as compared to Neon Paradise, but both draw from the techniques used by cubist artists of the past & present.
